Privacy Policy

This policy explains what kama.tube collects when you use kama.tube and its subdomains, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to describe what the software actually does rather than reserve every right imaginable.

What we collect

When you simply browse

• Request logs — IP address, user agent, page requested, referring page, and timestamp, recorded by our web server.
• View records — when a video is played we record which video, the site it was played on, and the referring hostname. Your IP address is not stored against these records: it is combined with your user agent, a secret key, and the current date, and hashed. Because the date is part of the input, the identifier changes daily and records from different days cannot be linked together.

When you hold an account

• Your email address and display name.
• A cryptographic hash of your password. We never store your password.
• Content you submit: comments, ratings, and tag suggestions.
• Session records, including a hashed IP address and user agent, so you can review and revoke active sessions.

What we do not collect

We do not sell personal data. We do not operate advertising or analytics trackers that follow you across other websites. We do not ask for payment details, because the Website is free to use.

Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie when you sign in, and, where applicable, a cookie recording that you have passed an age check. These are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Why we are allowed to process this

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, our lawful bases are:

• Legitimate interests — operating and securing the Website, preventing abuse, and understanding which content is popular.
• Contract — providing the account features you asked for.
• Legal obligation — retaining records we are required to keep, and responding to lawful requests.

How long we keep it

• Web server logs: a rolling short-term window for security and debugging.
• View records: retained in aggregate; the daily visitor identifier cannot be reversed or linked across days.
• Account data: for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and we delete your personal data, except where we are required to retain something.
• Takedown and abuse reports: retained as a record of compliance.

Who else sees it

Our hosting provider and, where used, our content delivery and email providers process data on our behalf under contract. We disclose data to authorities only where legally required. We do not share it with advertisers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format. Residents of California may request disclosure of what is collected and may opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — we do neither.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@kama.tube. If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Security

The Website is served over HTTPS. Passwords are stored using a slow salted hash. Administrative access requires a second factor. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of this data seriously.

Children

The Website is strictly for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under eighteen. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact privacy@kama.tube and we will delete it.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change, and revise the date below.
